چکیده

Mixed objective control problems have attracted much attention lately since they allow for capturing different performance specifications without resorting to approximations or the use of weighting functions, thus eliminating the need for trial and error type iterations. This paper addresses the problem of designing stabilizing controllers that minimize the 11 norm of a certain closed-loop transfer function, while maintaining the 7I!z norm (mixed 11/7I !z) , or the 7I!, norm (mixed 11/7I!,), of a different transfer function below a prespecified level. Based on a linear matrix inequality approach, the main results of this paper show that, suboptimal controllers can be synthesized by a two-stage process, involving an LMI optimization problem and a line search over (0 , l ) . Furthermore, this approach also provides an LMI-based parameterization of all suboptimal output feedback controllers, including reduced order ones, for mixed 11/7I!, and 11/7I!z problems.

A linear matrix inequality approach to synthesizing low-order suboptimal mixed L1/H controllers

A linear matrix inequality approach to synthesizing low-order suboptimal mixed l /H N controllers ଝ Abstract Mixed objective control problems have attracted much attention lately since they allow for capturing di!erent performance speci"cations. However, optimal multiobjective controllers may exhibit some undesirable properties such as arbitrarily high order. This paper addresses the problem of...

Robust Fuzzy Gain-Scheduled Control of the 3-Phase IPMSM

This article presents a fuzzy robust Mixed - Sensitivity Gain - Scheduled H controller based on the Loop -Shaping methodology for a class of MIMO uncertain nonlinear Time - Varying systems. In order to design this controller, the nonlinear parameter - dependent plant is first modeled as a set of linear subsystems by Takagi and Sugeno’s (T - S) fuzzy approach. Both Loop - Shaping methodology and...

Optimal Unbiased Filtering via Linear Matrix Inequalities - American Control Conference, 1997. Proceedings of the 1997

Solutions to the optimal H , and L2 L, unbiased reduced-order filtering problems are obtained in terms of Linear Matrix Inequalities (LMIs). The order of the optimal filter is equal to the number of measurements. Both continuous-time and discrete-time results are presented. An explicit parametrization of all optimal unbiased filters is provided in terms of a free contractive matrix.

An LMI approach to H∞ controller design for linear time-delay systems

We develop an output feedback H, control design method for linear time-delay systems based on the linear-matrix-inequality (LMI) approach. A sufficient condition for the existence of H, controllers of any order is given in terms of three LMIs. The condition is valid for both singular and regular problems. We also give a characterization of H, controllers in state space. The LMI existence condit...

A Linear Matrix Inequality Approach to Synthesizing Low Order /spl iota/sup 1/ Controllers - Decision and Control, 1996., Proceedings of the 35th IEEE

The Z1 control theory is appealing, since it allows for directly incorporating time-domain specifications into the controller synthesis procedure and furnishes a complete solution to the robust performance problem. Moreover, in the SISO case, the synthesis procedure can be recast into a finite-dimensional Linear Programming problem and solved efficiently. The MIMO case can be solved iteratively...
